POSITION SUMMARY

The Construction Quality Control Manager (QCM) will leverage their technical expertise to effectively develop, train, supervise, communicate, execute, and oversee the company's Quality Control and Quality Assurance initiatives across all construction projects. This leadership role involves collaborating with the On-Site Self Perform Construction Team to ensure adherence to quality standards throughout their projects. Responsibilities include crafting, reviewing, and updating Project Quality Plans to guarantee compliance with contractual obligations, standards, methodologies, and specifications.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Mentor and train the team on all facets of the QA/QC Program.


• Formulate and manage the Quality Control Plan for all construction endeavors.


• Interpret complex contract specifications, documents, and architectural/engineering/mechanical/electrical schematics.


• Analyze and resolve issues by interpreting technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic formats.


• Lead both internal and external teams in surveying, inspecting, aligning, and documenting necessary actions to fulfill the QA/QC program.


• Review and authorize submittals, process RFIs, and generate detailed Daily Activity Reports.


• Collaborate with team members, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to meet contractual requirements, project objectives, and goals.


• Communicate effectively with client quality assurance personnel, technical experts, and construction supervisors while managing customer contract requirements.


• Facilitate meetings, present findings, and lead problem-solving sessions with technical experts.


• Proficiently utilize QCS/RMS software and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).


• Prepare data presentations, proposals, reports, and manuals.


• Mentor Quality Control Specialists and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.


• Stay updated with emerging technological trends to enhance the delivery of the QA/QC program.

QUALIFICATIONS


• High School Diploma/GED with 15 years of QCM experience in the heavy industrial sector, or a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field with 10 years of QCM experience.


• Valid OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, and LEED certifications are mandatory.


• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.


• Certification in Contractor Quality Management for Contractors or the ability to obtain it.


• QCM experience on heavy industrial projects is essential.


• Proven experience managing multiple projects concurrently.


• Proficiency in QCS/RMS software and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.


• Familiarity with project management software (Primavera, Microsoft Project).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT


• The role requires prolonged walking, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, stooping, climbing, and regular lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs., as well as talking, hearing, reaching, feeling, grasping, and push/pulling.


• Must be capable of working in various weather conditions and temperatures.


• Regular mental and visual attention is necessary, often with manual coordination.


• General office environment conditions apply.


• Flexibility to travel more than 50% of the time is required.
