Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) team at our Lewes, DE location. As a PCU Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring that patient needs are met and goals are achieved.
  • Monitor and manage patient safety risks, including fall risk, skin integrity, and medication safety.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to assigned staff, ensuring that patient care is delivered in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Participate in unit-based councils and performance improvement initiatives to promote a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware.
  • 2 years of experience in a hospital or acute care setting, preferably in a PCU or critical care unit.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • NIH certification.
  • Stroke Certification.
  • Ability to perform CPR and ACLS.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to keep confidential information regarding patients and team members.
  • Able to withstand crisis situations.
  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
