Job Description

Madison Area Technical College is seeking a pool of highly motivated and qualified candidates to teach part-time courses for the Applied Biology and Biotechnology program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement instructional strategies, including alternative delivery methods, to engage adult students at the technical diploma and associate degree levels.
  • Provide continuing education and customized training for business and industry, focusing on biotechnology-related programs.
  • Collaborate with the College's Business and Industry Services division to support the training needs of business partners and clients.
  • Maintain competencies as an instructor, aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
  • Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, and grading.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a bio-science field or a related field with a Bachelor's degree and relevant work experience.
  • Two years of related work experience in a laboratory setting, with one year of experience within the past five years.
  • Or, a Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry, or a related degree in Life Sciences, with five years of related work experience, including one year of occupational work experience within the past five years.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management work experience.
  • Skill in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods.
  • Knowledge and ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery.
  • Skill in communications and human relations with diverse populations.
