Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Intern D

At L3Harris, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team. As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will provide mechanical engineering support for new product development activities and factory support of existing products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide mechanical engineering support for new product development activities and factory support of existing products.
  • Generate and/or process engineering change orders (ECOs) as required.
  • Work directly with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation.
  • Sustainment Engineering: Involved in the installation coordination for design, modification, maintenance, and repair of electronic assemblies, mechanical systems, and equipment installations.
  • Apply basic engineering design and/or analytical theory with understanding of structural analysis for application to integrated system design.
  • Support transition from engineering design to manufacturing, assembly and installation of designed products.
  • Application of principles supporting mechanical systems life cycle maintenance (repair, rework and designing replacement parts).
  • Opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and electronic assemblies on various installation platforms.
Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Preferred Skills: CAD (Creo preferred or similar) tools exposure, and/or experience in mechanical design or analysis of electronic systems, structures, and mechanisms.
