Job Title: Engineering/Electronic Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain custom-built and commercial production test equipment.
  • Develop and implement electrical schematic and wiring diagrams.
  • Test and troubleshoot electronic systems and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain electromechanical, mechanical, and electromagnetic systems.
  • Operate and maintain custom-built electronic test equipment.
  • Use schematic capture and Spice tools for circuit design and troubleshooting.
  • Handle vacuum pumps and plumbing.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of AC and DC circuitry and components.
  • Understanding of circuit phase shifting and AC impedance.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and procedures.
  • Electrical schematic and wiring diagram reading skills.
  • Soldering and use of basic electronics/mechanical hand tools.
  • Basic electrical test equipment operation skills.
  • Knowledge of servers, stepper motors, and control systems.
  • Basic mechanical instrument skills.
  • Computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced test equipment operation skills.
  • Microcontroller/microprocessor-based digital and/or mixed signal circuit and system familiarity.
  • Magnetic circuit familiarity.
  • Knowledge of environmental testing.
  • Ability to program environmental test chambers and/or vibration tables.
  • An outstanding, can-do attitude.
  • Familiarity with Lathes and Vertical Mills.
  • Familiarity with DAQs and Labview/Dasy Lab programs.
  • Knowledge of industrial wiring polyphase power systems.
  • Experience with pressurized gasses.
  • Knowledge of the 100th edition handbook of DOE Engineering Fundamentals Course.
