Deputy Director of Community Development

The City and County of San Francisco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Deputy Director of Community Development. This key leadership position plays a critical role in overseeing the Community Development Division, which is responsible for implementing policies and programs that promote affordable housing opportunities, community services, and economic development.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Community Development Division, including the management of staff, budget, and programs.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve the division's goals and objectives, including the allocation of funds to community-based organizations and the management of federal grant programs.
- Collaborate with other city departments, community-based organizations, and stakeholders to advance the city's affordable housing and community development agenda.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the division's staff, including the development of training programs and the implementation of performance management systems.
- Represent the city in various forums and meetings, including those with community-based organizations, city departments, and external stakeholders.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as urban planning, public administration, or business administration.
- At least 5 years of experience in community development, housing, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven track record of success in managing budgets, staff, and programs, as well as developing and implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community-based organizations, city departments, and external partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
- A competitive salary range of $200,000 - $215,000 per year.
