Position Overview

This role involves overseeing field and administrative operations related to the investigation of deaths under the jurisdiction of the Medical Examiner. The individual in this position will manage a team of investigators tasked with examining sudden, violent, or suspicious fatalities.

Engagement in complex cases, responding to mass casualty incidents, and drawing conclusions regarding the cause and manner of death are critical components of this role.

Employees in this capacity may encounter challenging situations and will work under the guidance of a technical supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of investigators in the field.
  • Participate in intricate investigations and respond to critical incidents.
  • Formulate conclusions based on investigative findings.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental protocols and standards.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet specific educational and experiential criteria, including:

  • Permanent Civil Service status within the Department of Health.
  • Relevant educational background, including completion of high school or higher education in a related field.
  • Extensive experience in investigating sudden or unusual deaths, including supervisory experience.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license and be able to meet physical and medical standards required for this role.
