About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager I - Engineering to join our team at HNTB. As a Project Manager I - Engineering, you will be responsible for managing assigned projects throughout their full lifecycle, including developing the scope and technical sections of proposal and procurement documents, participating in contract negotiations, and overseeing the delivery of the project plan to successfully accomplish HNTB's 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client's satisfaction on every project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project team(s) for one or more strategic projects, including cross-discipline and functional teams
  • Develop and execute project management plans, including budget, schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, and client communications
  • Provide high-level technical tasks, manage and review design-related specifications, calculations, reports, and plans
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to address and problem-solve design-related issues or concerns
  • Assist in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA)
  • Serve as the primary client liaison and manage the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client's satisfaction
  • Perform technical discipline tasks, including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects
  • Implement the firm's project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project
  • Lead the development and execution of the project management plan, supervise and mentor team to overall project objectives
  • Perform coordination with managers on project staffing, including recruitment, development, retention, and succession of project staff
  • Partner with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for strategic and mini-mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience
  • 2 years task management or Deputy PM experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering
  • 10 years relevant experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
