Job Summary:New River Community College (NRCC) is a comprehensive community college located in the New River Valley of Virginia. As a part-time adjunct faculty member, you will have the opportunity to teach various day, night, and online courses, as needed. Our faculty members are well-known for their academic background and their ability to work closely and effectively with students. They have a genuine interest in your success and excellent academic credentials. All faculty who teach college transfer courses have doctorates or master's degrees, while those in occupational programs have a diverse background that combines academics with practical on-the-job experience. In recent years, individual professors and college programs have received state and national awards for their quality.
Responsibilities:
Teach various day, night, and online courses, as needed. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners. Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and improve teaching practices. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning.
Requirements:
Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the subject being taught. Bachelor's degree and experience in teaching the listed courses, with a master's degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent and industry-recognized credentials for certain teaching fields. All positions are part-time, and hours will vary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience in a higher education environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Strong organizational and time management skills. Familiarity with educational technology and online learning platforms.
