Job Title: Automation Engineer

Harrison Consulting Solutions is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our Chicago team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer to design, install, commission, and test instrumentation and control systems (SCADA) for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience with PLCs, SCADA, and OITs software.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, install, commission, and test instrumentation and control systems (SCADA)
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including information technology, engineering, and operations
  • Provide project management and quality control during all phases of project
  • Design instrumentation and control systems for water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and related facilities
  • Onsite work for municipal clients, including instrumentation configuration, installation assistance, and control system and process start-up/testing
  • On-call 24/7 to troubleshoot instrumentation/control issues
Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • 5+ years of experience as an Electrical/Controls Engineer performing design, programming, installation, and startup tasks
  • Programming experience using PLCs, SCADA, and OITs software
  • Experience with various products, including Allen-Bradley SLC, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, PanelView, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, GE iFIX, Inductive Automation Ignition, Wonderware System Platform, InTouch, and other hardware/software
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Auto CAD/Visio experience preferred
