Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our team at SPC Mechanical. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and providing exceptional support to project managers and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit monthly invoice packages for all billable projects, including backup documentation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing, sales tax reports, lien waivers/releases of claims, and other critical project documentation.
  • Understand and comply with project-specific requirements and regulations.
  • Issue Large Purchase Orders and Subcontract Contracts, ensuring execution and approval.
  • Audit Subcontractor Billings and research discrepancies, maintaining contact with subs as needed.
  • Prepare General Contractor Change Orders, ensuring all required paperwork and coding is received and submitted.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions related to subcontracts, change orders, and billings.
  • Build strong relationships with GC Project Accountant and Project Manager.
  • Track outstanding receivables and make necessary collections.
  • Work with the cash receipts team to reconcile variances.
  • Maintain accurate billing folders for all projects.
  • Perform special projects as directed.
  • Support the switchboard operator as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including probability, statistical inference, and geometry.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
Salary Range

$50-60K per year.
