Financial Accountant

At SPC Mechanical, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a vital role in managing our financial transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and providing critical financial insights to support business growth.

This is a dynamic opportunity for a highly skilled Financial Accountant to make a real impact on our organization. As a seasoned professional with a strong background in construction accounting, you will be responsible for managing our accounting processes, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Financial Transaction Management
  • Prepare and issue monthly pay applications to customers
  • Manage CCIP (Contractor Control Insurance Program) enrollment
  • Responsible for sending out and collecting monthly subcontractor/vendor lien waivers
  • In control of new project setup and contract administration
  • Evaluate aging reports to ensure payments are up to date and calling general contractors for payment update
  • Maintain accurate AR records, as well as file billing documentation
  • Assisting with month end processing
  • Prepares and maintains various reports requested by management
  • Provide external audit support
• Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Identify and resolve financial discrepancies
  • Develop and implement financial forecasts and budgets
  • Analyze financial data to inform business decisions
• Compliance and Risk Management
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure financial integrity

• Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma required
  • 5 years of accounting experience preferred; Construction accounting a plus
  • Trimble Spectrum Software experience a plus
• Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion
  • Able to work effectively under deadlines and high pressure
  • Ability to work with and build relationships with a wide variety of people
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
