Position Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is on the lookout for a seasoned Project Manager who will leverage their leadership and engineering expertise to oversee various projects while mentoring support personnel. The Project Manager plays a crucial role in project management, leadership, profitability, and client relations for the project design team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring financial performance and preparing technical proposals and invoices.
  • Monitoring project budgets and supervising staff.
  • Scheduling critical projects and managing design tasks related to civil engineering.

The Project Manager will collaborate with existing office personnel and senior management to ensure projects are completed within set budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical integrity and adherence to standard engineering practices in various plans, reports, and design documents.
  • Manage and review design tasks, including conceptual planning, detailed grading, and drainage designs to achieve value engineering.
  • Conduct final ordinance reviews, coordinate utility service research, assist with external agency responses, and perform site evaluations during construction.
  • Ensure quality control for all project documentation.
  • Identify challenges, assess alternatives, and propose solutions to colleagues and management.
  • Develop project timelines and construction schedules.
  • Handle multiple projects and manage competing deadlines effectively.
  • Prepare proposal scopes, project schedules, and necessary change orders.
  • Oversee financial management, including invoice preparation and project profitability.
  • Work independently on various projects while leading other engineers in a collaborative environment.
  • Manage client relationships, providing status updates and project-specific discussions.
  • Mentor junior staff through technical training as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to the company's standard AutoCAD procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in civil engineering.
  • Experience in land development is essential.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and the ability to mentor junior staff in design skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with outstanding analytical and judgment skills.
  • Preferred experience in construction oversight.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of local land use processes and regulations.
  • Advanced technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and related site development designs.
  • Dedicated, responsive, and organized approach to work.
