Job Overview

Position: Senior Systems Engineer
Compensation: $90-100/hr 1099 Contract

The G6 Operations Division is dedicated to overseeing and managing communication connectivity for various systems. This role is crucial in supporting the government’s mission to sustain intelligence collection and dissemination assets essential for national security.

The selected candidate will provide professional support services, ensuring responsive and adaptive solutions to meet both current and future IT needs. The Army’s INSCOM command requires ongoing support for the operation and advancement of automated systems necessary for effective intelligence operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate expertise in visualization concepts and system architecture.
  • Develop and maintain code along with corresponding test scripts to fulfill specified requirements.
  • Assist in planning system deployments and ensure compliance with software standards.
  • Evaluate hardware-software interfaces and operational requirements to enhance overall system performance.
  • Document system parameters and formats, ensuring compatibility between hardware and software systems.
  • Revise existing systems to improve data handling, integrity, and storage efficiency.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation, testing, and maintenance for system updates and configurations.
  • Apply troubleshooting skills within enterprise-level systems interfacing with Active Directory.
  • Run scripts to automate tasks on Windows platforms.
  • Deliver customer support through various channels, assisting users with new desktop capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Solution Architecture team to integrate core services and ensure system security.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an IT-related field, combined with relevant experience.

Certifications: Must possess DoD 8570 IAT II certification, Security+, and one of the following: GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, GCIH, GCED.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years in:

  • Architecting and maintaining data center infrastructure, preferably within the DOD.
  • Working with hardware components including compute, network, and storage.
  • Implementing DOD Security Controls.
  • VMware System Administration.
  • Creating documentation for architectures and operational support.

Additionally, candidates should have:

  • 15+ years of engineering experience in software development tools and solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory management.
  • Tier 3 support experience in a globally distributed environment.
  • Aptitude for learning new technologies rapidly.
Skills:
  • Ability to secure VMware environments according to DISA STIG.
  • Mentorship capabilities for junior team members.
  • Experience with cloud/server/network implementation and IaaS support.

Work Environment: This position operates within standard core hours.

Security Clearance: Candidates must possess a minimum TS/SCI clearance, with preference for those holding a TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to access classified materials.
