Job Title: Senior Suspension Design Engineer

Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Suspension Design Engineer to join our Shock Absorber Research & Development department in Sunbury, OH.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop 3D CAD layouts and suspension components
  • Perform engineering analysis for new product development
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers for new product development
  • Root-cause analysis of past design issues to improve design
  • Occasional travel and overtime may be required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals
  • 3D CAD experience (Catia, Solidworks, or Pro-E preferred)
  • Proficient in MS applications, including Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in Japanese/American engineering culture
  • Understanding of suspension design/function
  • Motorcycle or automotive development experience (including FSAE, mini-baja, etc.)
  • Interest in motorcycle or automotive hobbies
  • Hands on mechanical aptitude
