The ideal candidate will possess the ability to independently manage projects while also fostering collaboration among team members throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning to final construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive engineering solutions for clients, including conducting studies, planning, designing, and preparing specifications and reports.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, supervisors, and project teams, providing regular updates and progress reports during all project phases.
- Participate actively in company, project, and client meetings.
- Lead the preparation of proposals and engage in interviews to secure new business opportunities, with an increasing focus on business development as experience grows.
- Exhibit initiative and sound judgment in decision-making processes.
- Guide engineering technicians and team members in developing project plans and specifications.
- Collaborate with other engineering departments on complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
- Conduct all responsibilities with a strong emphasis on ethics, attention to detail, and professionalism.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Engage in professional organizations and community leadership initiatives.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime, particularly during peak construction periods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
- Professional Engineer license is preferred or the ability to obtain licensure within a specified timeframe.
- 5-15 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, specifically in water resources and stormwater management.
- Strong project management expertise is crucial for this role.
- Experience in construction management is also necessary.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are mandatory.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
- Flexibility in work style and the ability to adjust schedules to meet project deadlines and client needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience with watershed modeling, stormwater system design, and civil design software is advantageous.
- A valid driver's license is necessary or the ability to obtain one.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to operate a computer in a standard office environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors during construction seasons.
- Capability to stand and walk for extended periods as required for construction observation and surveying tasks.
- Must adhere to scheduled work hours.
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
