We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated student to join our team as a Student Ambassador for Social Change. This role will provide an opportunity to work alongside our professional staff to advance our mission of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus.

Job Summary:

The Student Ambassador for Social Change will be responsible for facilitating workshops, events, and programs that promote social change and equity. This will include working with students, faculty, and staff to develop and implement programs that address issues related to identity, diversity, and social justice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate workshops and events that promote social change and equity
  • Work with students, faculty, and staff to develop and implement programs that address issues related to identity, diversity, and social justice
  • Assist in the creation of marketing materials and promotional campaigns to promote programs and events
  • Provide support to the BIPOC Unity Center office suite during business hours
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled student staff meetings, trainings, and development opportunities
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate an understanding of campus resources and services offered by the college
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop in the role
  • Demonstrate an understanding of identity and an investment in social change
  • Be reliable, dependable, and flexible
  • Possess effective communication skills
  • Be a team player and contribute to a work environment that supports teamwork
  • Have the ability to work independently and utilize problem-solving skills
  • Have an understanding of professional social media etiquette
  • Maintain a good academic and judicial standing
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possess marketing and graphic design skills
  • Strong understanding of campus resources
Pay Rate:

$15.00 per hour

Working Hours:

6-10 hours per week during the academic year

Preference to candidates who can fill these gaps: Tuesday and Thursday mornings

Program and event support may include evenings and weekends, based on the operational needs of the BIPOC Unity Center

Must be able to attend Thursday 4-5pm Weekly Staff Meetings and pre-semester trainings
