The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to students, maintaining a clean and safe food service environment, and performing administrative tasks as needed. The position requires flexibility in work hours and location to meet the needs of the Food Service Department. The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification and have a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years of experience in food preparation is preferred. The position is located at Portland High School, with tentative work hours from 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. including a half-hour unpaid lunch break. Work hours can fluctuate depending on student breakfast and lunch schedules. The successful candidate will be required to lift at least 30 pounds and have excellent math skills. For this position, you can also pick up a paper application at the Central Office, 353 Cumberland Ave. CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization is required. The cost is $70 and can be obtained through the Maine Department of Education website.
