Position Overview

As a Lead Transportation Engineer at Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic Transportation Planning team. This position is designed for an experienced professional who is passionate about enhancing mobility and improving community infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

1. **Project Design and Planning**: Engage in the design and planning of transportation engineering initiatives, collaborating with a diverse team of transportation planners and civil engineers to create innovative mobility solutions that cater to all users.

2. **Multi-Modal Analysis**: Conduct comprehensive multi-modal transportation assessments, including traffic, pedestrian, and freight analyses, to inform project development.

3. **Intersection and Corridor Improvements**: Lead the planning and conceptual design of enhancements for intersections, multimodal facilities, and transportation corridors.

4. **Traffic Studies**: Prepare detailed traffic impact studies, safety analyses, and improvement studies for corridors and intersections.

5. **Forecasting and Operational Analysis**: Assist in traffic forecasting and operational analysis to support project objectives.

6. **Research and Reporting**: Conduct thorough research, compile reports, and present findings to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and engagement.

7. **Data Visualization**: Create compelling figures and data visualizations to effectively communicate design concepts and analytical results.

8. **Proposal Development**: Support the preparation of proposals and scopes of work, while managing project budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

- **Educational Background**: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- **Experience**: A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in civil or transportation engineering/planning, preferably within a consulting environment.
- **Licensure**: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; PTOE/RSP certification is a plus.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in traffic analysis software such as Synchro, HCS, and experience with tools like Sidra, Cube/FSUTMS, Microstation, and PTV VISSIM/VISUM is advantageous.
