Aircraft Technician II Job Description

Job Summary:

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing complex aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications with minimal supervision.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Inspect and Repair Aircraft Systems: Perform thorough inspections of aircraft systems and structures to identify and repair any defects or malfunctions.
  2. Coordinate with Maintenance Teams: Work closely with the Maintenance Team Lead, Shift Manager, and Inspection Department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
  3. Complete Paperwork and Documentation: Properly complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs, and other paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
  4. Store and Secure Aircraft Components: Ensure that all aircraft components and customer property are stored securely and safely.
  5. Operate Ground Support Equipment: Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment, including external power carts, hydraulic mules, and tow tugs.
  6. Coordinate Aircraft Movement: Assist with aircraft movement in hangar and ramp areas.
  7. Provide Training and Support: Provide training to less experienced technicians and assist with shift turnovers.

Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Waste Management: Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags.
  2. Lean Initiatives: Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered.
  3. Tool Maintenance: Properly use and maintain Company-provided tools and equipment.
  4. Safety Procedures: Comply with safety rules and procedures, use protective equipment as required, and be alert for unsafe conditions.
  5. Material Tracking: Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-offs, and to charge labor to correct work orders.

Requirements:

Working knowledge of the FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
