Who We Are Looking For

We seek an Employment Support Specialist to oversee our Supported Employment Program, assisting individuals with diagnosed mental health challenges in their pursuit of community employment. You will adhere to the 7 Core Principles of Supported Employment as established by SAMHSA, including member preference and integrated services. Responsibilities include outreach and enrollment for new members, maintaining a focus on normalization and community integration, and collaborating with the clinical team to address any concerns or achievements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in social services or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 1 year of relevant administrative experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an Employment Specialist I or II.
  • Positive work record as determined by the Human Resources Department.
  • Completion of Copa's training program is required.
  • Must possess a fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one within eight weeks of hire.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening is mandatory.
  • TB Test clearance is required at the time of hire and annually thereafter.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with state minimum insurance coverage are necessary.
JOB SUMMARY:
  • Assist in maintaining departmental operations to ensure compliance with contract requirements, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, ensuring confidentiality and coordination of information within the agency.
  • Foster professional relationships with all agency departments, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Support the accurate completion of administrative tasks including payroll, program documentation, and service authorization.
  • Provide oversight to the Supported Employment program, ensuring positive outcomes through training and mentoring staff.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, responding to any reported concerns.
  • Manage a small caseload of job-seeking members as assigned.
  • Assist members in understanding how employment affects their entitlements.
  • Conduct job development activities tailored to the interests of members.
  • Participate in weekly Clinical Team Meetings to coordinate vocational services with mental health treatment.
