Position Overview:


The Clinical Equipment Specialist is responsible for the planning, training, installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced medical devices and systems essential for patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring.


Key Responsibilities:


Under the guidance of a supervisor or designated authority, execute all aspects of scheduled and corrective maintenance for clinical equipment and medical systems.

Conduct pre-issue evaluations and asset management, as well as the installation and removal of related devices as necessary.


Perform both routine and unscheduled inspections, maintenance, and electrical safety assessments of clinical equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.


Document all findings from inspections, maintenance activities, and tests thoroughly.


Collaborate effectively with other specialists in biomedical engineering (including Instrumentation, X-Ray, CT/MR, Diagnostic Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Clinical Laboratory, RT/Anesthesia, Ophthalmology/Lasers, and Clinical Systems Integration), KPIT, business partners, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) representatives.

Complete all necessary documentation of work performed in a timely manner.


Frequent travel may be required for Shared Services/Support biomedical engineers to deliver service support.

Occasional travel may also be necessary for Stationary Service Area Support biomedical engineers to assist other locations.

All engineers will need to travel for technical training sessions.


After-hours work may be necessary on both scheduled and unscheduled occasions to fulfill job requirements.

Participation in a weekday and weekend on-call schedule for emergency service is expected.

Communication devices will be provided and must be kept operational during duty hours.



Basic Qualifications:
Experience

Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience through formal training or on-the-job learning.

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent.

License, Certification, Registration

Valid Driver's License (California).

Additional Requirements:
Must possess a good driving record and maintain a valid unrestricted class C or superior driver's license.


Experience and a working knowledge of medical equipment and systems in general instrumentation or the designated specialty area are essential.

Willingness to work extended hours is required.

Proficiency in operating PCs with Windows operating systems is necessary.



Preferred Qualifications:
An Associate's degree or equivalent in electronics, physics, or a related scientific field is preferred.

Cannon Portables, Hologic Mammography, GE OEC C-arms, Phillips, etc.
