Overview of the Opportunity

Penn State Health is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join their Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) team. This individual will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of the CVU.

About the Role

The selected candidate will serve as the main APP overseeing day-to-day operations of the HVOU/Cardiac Catheterization lab for the Structural Heart Disease area of Cardiology. They will be an active member of the Structural Heart Team, collaborating with the Structural/Interventional APPs to provide pre- and post-procedural care to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Triage messages from patients of Structural Heart Cardiology attendings, including both procedural and non-procedural issues.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in daily huddles and contribute to team discussions regarding patient care and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must possess:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program or a baccalaureate degree with licensure requirements met.
  • National certification in the state of employment or reciprocity in another state with licensure to practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
