POSITION OVERVIEW: A Security Specialist is tasked with ensuring the safety and protection of all company assets, personnel, visitors, and facilities. This role requires adaptability in work hours, as security operations are conducted around the clock.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Conducting routine patrols of the facility to deter or reduce property loss, damage, personal injury, vehicular incidents, or any adverse situations affecting the organization.
  • Monitoring for signs of unlawful activity and addressing disturbances in accordance with company procedures.
  • Controlling access to buildings and grounds, allowing entry only to those with proper identification or authorization.
  • Issuing visitor badges and verifying credentials of employees, guests, and others to maintain a secure environment.
  • Managing the locking and unlocking of doors before and after events as required.
  • Operating security vehicles, including golf carts, for patrol duties and responding to incidents.
  • Conducting thorough investigations into all incidents, accidents, and security concerns affecting the facility or the interests of the organization.
  • Monitoring security systems and communication equipment, reporting any malfunctions during assigned shifts.
  • Responding to fire and medical emergencies, providing assistance and first aid as necessary.
  • Engaging with tenants, employees, and guests in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Escorting employees handling cash or visitors into secure areas.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to perform various physical activities during an eight-hour shift, including walking, standing, climbing, and bending.
  • Must be able to carry a weapon as part of the role.
  • Certification or willingness to obtain certification in first aid, CPR, and AED training.
  • Vision must be correctable to 20/20.
  • Must not have dichromatic color blindness.
  • Ability to pass state-required training/testing and register with the relevant security bureau.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and foster a customer-friendly service environment.
  • Strong computer, report writing, and communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent public relations abilities.
  • Good driving record is required.
  • Capability to follow complex instructions and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment, dependability, emotional control, customer service orientation, integrity, and professionalism are crucial.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Availability to work additional hours for event operations.
  • Must successfully pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
