Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the operations of one or more units, ensuring that staff delivers the highest quality of care while complying with the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and all relevant regulations.
  • Collaborates with the physician team leader, department chief, and nursing manager to enhance patient services and manage daily departmental operations.
  • Implements and maintains standards for patient care and quality service to meet the expectations of members and internal clients.
  • Acts as an advocate for patients, addressing any care-related concerns.
  • Evaluates and recommends process improvements to enhance systems and patient care outcomes across the care continuum.
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of budgets and resource allocations, while tracking financial performance and proposing strategies to reduce costs and enhance care quality.
  • Helps manage and resolve issues related to human resources, labor relations, employee safety, and risk management.
  • Determines the appropriate staffing mix for the department and develops processes for screening, interviewing, hiring, training, and maintaining staff competency.
  • Facilitates ongoing staff development and implements departmental policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and objectives.

Basic Qualifications: Experience
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory experience is required.
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related health field, or four (4) years of nursing experience.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support certification
Additional Requirements:
  • Familiarity with the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other relevant regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior nursing experience in outpatient settings.
  • Clinical specialization in the relevant area of practice is preferred.
