Sterile Processing Technician

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the transportation, cleaning, and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment for the operating room and other clinical areas. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble and sterilize medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols
Transport and receive soiled instruments from clinical areas to the decontamination area
Clean and decontaminate surgical instrumentation according to manufacturer's instructions
Inspect instruments for defects during cleaning and assembly processes
Operate equipment used in processing and sterilization in strict accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
Previous experience in sterile processing or a related field is preferred
Working Conditions:
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with potential exposure to diseases or infections, hazardous materials, and uncomfortable noise levels. The ability to lift, move, and load 30 to 50 pounds is also required.
