Job Opportunity at Ivy Tech Community College

We are seeking part-time, in-person tutors to join our team at the Ivy Tech Community College – Sellersburg Campus. As a tutor, you will work with students in individual, shared, and group settings to enhance their understanding of course materials. Your role will involve providing guidance on study skills, serving as a link to other college resources, and completing necessary paperwork and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities:
  • Meet with students to discuss course concepts and provide support in a collaborative environment.
  • Help students develop effective study skills and strategies for academic success.
  • Connect students with other college resources to ensure they receive comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required paperwork.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with faculty to help students meet course learning objectives.
  • Embody a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all interactions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and student advocacy through a positive attitude and approachability.
  • Dress and behave in a professional manner at all times.
Requirements:
  • Be a current student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or have relevant experience as a tutor or faculty member.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse student populations and maintain confidentiality.
  • Be willing to work under supervision and complete required training.
