Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Manager to join our team at Ascension Seton. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the central sterile supply unit, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the sterilization and distribution of medical instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement departmental goals, standards, and objectives that align with the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Collect and report on data concerning instrument distribution, loss, and replacement, and work collaboratively to identify and implement strategies related to product standardization, supply reduction, and cost containment.
  • Manage staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management, and may perform and oversee processes such as scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagement.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, vendor relations, and quality and process compliance of all sterilization activities throughout the health system.
  • Establish and maintain sterilization, safety, and security standards, policies, and procedures for the Sterile Processing Department to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
Requirements
  • One or more of the following certifications required: Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree with 2 years of experience or 7 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
