Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Part-Time Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team at the McHenry Township Fire Protection District. As a Part-Time Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to medical emergencies, fires, and other emergency incidents to provide fire suppression and emergency medical service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency calls and provide fire suppression and emergency medical service
  • Operate and maintain a variety of rescue and firefighting apparatus and equipment
  • Participate in firefighting, hazardous materials, and other special teams incidents
  • Participate in fire prevention and training activities

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in the English language
  • Meet knowledge, health, and physical qualifications established by the District
  • Pass a background investigation, pre-employment medical exam, and drug test

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Responder, Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, and Basic Operations Firefighter certifications
  • Licensed Paramedic through the Illinois Department of Public Health

How to Apply:

  2. Successfully complete FireTeam testing through NTN
  3. Complete a valid CPAT test, including the optional ladder climb
  4. Submit a completed Employment Application and all required documentation
