We are currently seeking a Machine Operator II for 12-hour night shifts. The Machine Operator is responsible for all necessary tasks to ensure product availability for production lines. This position is multifaceted, involving line operation, quality checks, material handling, and compliance documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance of the Production Supervisor and Production Lead, the Operator II will manage production equipment in accordance with established protocols to guarantee safe operations and optimal product output. This pivotal role coordinates team efforts to ensure that production machinery functions safely, effectively, and efficiently.

1. Authorized to operate various lines of equipment following company policies and procedures.

2. Conduct setup, startup, and shutdown of machinery, manage changeovers, and perform cleaning and sanitization of equipment and facilities, including material handling while maintaining operational certifications.

3. Prepare products for transfer and/or final processing, ensuring inspection of product output for quality and precision.

4. Regularly inspect finished goods and complete relevant quality documentation in line with established procedures and specifications.

5. Comprehend and apply procedures for individual equipment to ensure efficient operation.

6. Recognize mechanical issues and take corrective actions or involve maintenance as necessary.

7. Perform routine machine clean-up, setup, and minor maintenance, including debris removal. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections, documenting issues and reviewing others' documentation for accuracy.

8. Understand the operational parameters of machinery to produce quality products as per established specifications.

9. Address machinery breakdowns and material disruptions, restoring equipment to operational status while minimizing downtime. Contact maintenance when necessary.

10. Operate automated pick and place boxing lines, load boxes onto skids, shrink wrap, and transport pallets to the finished goods area using a pallet jack.

11. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all paperwork and reports with required sign-offs.

12. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and production areas as required.

13. Serve as a backup for other positions and complete additional projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience operating a production line in a manufacturing setting.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to read and interpret charts, indicators, control instructions, and operator checklists.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding the English language.
  • Capability to instruct others (Operator I).
  • Basic mathematical skills, including fractional and decimal calculations.
  • Physical ability to stand for an entire shift and perform lifting, reaching, squatting, pushing, and pulling tasks.
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in varying temperature environments.
  • Proficient in operating a pallet jack and forklift (both sit-down and standing).
  • Commitment to team success.
  • Experience in compounding, mixing, or blending batches is advantageous.
