Position Overview:

We are in search of a seasoned Cloud Operations Engineer who possesses a comprehensive understanding of AWS CI/CD methodologies and is adept in utilizing CloudFormation and Jenkins. Proficiency in Python, Databricks, AWS Glue/EMR, and cloud databases is essential. Experience within the healthcare sector is a notable advantage. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing workflow operations with Airflow and overseeing the CI/CD processes within our AWS infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize AWS cloud services for data storage, processing, and analytics, optimizing both cost and performance through CloudFormation and Jenkins.
  • Employ tools such as Airflow for workflow management and Kubernetes for container orchestration to facilitate seamless deployment, scaling, and management of data processing applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines for processing extensive volumes of structured and unstructured healthcare data using Python and Snowflake.
  • Continuously assess and integrate new tools, technologies, and frameworks to enhance the data infrastructure and foster innovation.
  • Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, and analysts to comprehend data requirements and implement solutions that align with business and technical objectives.
  • Develop and execute data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across diverse healthcare datasets.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and ensure peak performance.
  • Establish and uphold CI/CD, infrastructure, and data pipeline operations to ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations pertinent to the healthcare sector.
  • Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a collaborative culture of learning and growth within the team.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align data engineering initiatives with broader organizational goals and strategies.
  • Understand and adhere to SOC 2 compliance requirements and their implications on company policies and processes.
  • Review and comprehend the Employee Handbook and internal policies that delineate individual security responsibilities, maintaining segregation of duties according to role requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a robust background in Apache Spark and cloud-based databases such as Snowflake.
  • Strong knowledge of Big Data Technologies, PySpark, and proficiency in one or more programming languages, particularly Python.
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS cloud services for data storage, processing, and analytics.
  • Expertise in workflow management tools like Airflow and container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, alongside data modeling and schema design principles.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards, terminologies, and regulations, including HIPAA and GDPR, is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • A strong desire to learn, adapt, and contribute to a rapidly evolving data landscape.
