Job Overview

POSITION: Surgical Technician

LOCATION: Rochester, MN (Onsite)

SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts with flexible start times of 7, 9, or 11 AM. Overtime may be required, with no weekend or on-call duties.

ROLE SUMMARY: The Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the surgical team throughout the perioperative process, ensuring a safe and efficient environment. This position requires a solid understanding of human anatomy, surgical instruments, patient safety protocols, and sterile procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in various surgical specialties including Otorhinolaryngology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neurology, Orthopedics, and Cardiovascular.
  • Implement aseptic techniques and familiarize oneself with surgical procedures, while preparing and maintaining surgical equipment and instruments.
  • Demonstrate quick and precise reactions in a high-pressure environment, maintaining a strong focus on quality patient care and effective communication with all team members.
  • Physical stamina is required, including standing and walking for extended periods, as well as the ability to lift moderate to heavy objects. Be prepared for exposure to potential hazards such as cuts, burns, infections, and biohazardous materials.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program or equivalent training.
  • Certification is preferred, along with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Additional certifications or specialized training may be necessary based on departmental needs.
  • Experience in Neurosurgery is essential.
