Key Responsibilities


The Anesthesia Technician plays a crucial role in delivering patient care and ensuring safety within surgical and procedural settings. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting anesthesia and nursing teams by performing various technical duties.
  • Responding to patient-specific requirements, including managing blood, medications, and supplies during surgical procedures.
  • Conducting patient identification procedures to guarantee the accurate delivery of blood products and medications.
  • Operating surgical equipment under the supervision of licensed professionals.
  • Ensuring operating rooms and pre/post-operative areas are well-stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and readiness of operating rooms for subsequent patients to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Implementing infection control measures and cleaning equipment to support anesthesia practices.
  • Participating as an active member of the Anesthesia OR emergency response team, ensuring all emergency safety equipment is functional.
  • In designated pre/post-operative areas, assisting with patient intake by obtaining vital statistics and attaching monitoring devices.
Qualifications


This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) along with a minimum of one year of clinical or hospital experience preferred. Candidates should possess:

  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in a surgical environment is preferred, along with direct patient care experience (CNA or PCA).
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to handle unpredictable situations, multitasking skills, and adaptability to workflow changes.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in using Microsoft computer systems.
  • Capacity to maintain focus and attention to detail for extended periods.
  • Physical ability to lift over 20 lbs., walk long distances, kneel or bend occasionally, and stand for prolonged periods.

BLS Certification or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire is required.

Compensation and Benefits


Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and tenure, alongside internal equity considerations. This position is eligible for benefits and offers a full-time schedule.

Work Schedule


The typical work hours are Monday through Friday, from 11 am to 7:30 pm, with no weekend shifts currently required.
