Job Title: Civil EstimatorJob Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civil Estimator with experience in residential land development to join our team at 2H Talent LLC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction projects, with a particular focus on land development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction and land development projects, including grading, earthwork, utilities, drainage, and site improvements.
  • Plan Review: Analyze blueprints, project specifications, and drawings to understand scope and requirements.
  • Bid Preparation: Develop comprehensive bid packages, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Risk Analysis: Identify and assess potential project risks and opportunities to ensure the accuracy of estimates.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to ensure estimates align with project objectives and timelines.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site assessments and inspections to gather necessary information for accurate estimation.
  • Budgeting: Assist in preparing project budgets and maintaining cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Value Engineering: Provide input on cost-saving measures and alternative materials or methods to optimize project outcomes.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on cost estimates, variances, and project status for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in civil estimating, with a focus on land development projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar), and strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and land development practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze and solve complex issues related to project estimates and budgets.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing estimates and reviewing project documents.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications in estimating (e.g., AACE, ASPE) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Residential Land Development Projects: Familiarity with residential land development projects and their unique challenges.
  • Knowledge of Local Zoning, Environmental, and Regulatory Requirements: Understanding of local zoning, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to land development projects.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Other Design Software: Familiarity with design software used in land development, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other similar tools.
