Position Summary

KX Technologies is seeking a proactive and skilled Product Development Engineer to become a key member of our New Product Development Team. This role is pivotal in managing various engineering initiatives, including the development of new products, cost optimization, and enhancements in quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple engineering projects with minimal supervision, focusing on the development of water filtration systems.
  • Ensure timely and budget-conscious execution of projects.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the structured product development process.
  • Effectively communicate with both internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, quality, operations, management) and external partners (customers, vendors).
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including requirements, drawings, and labels.
  • Quickly adapt to new technologies, processes, and systems.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and utilize problem-solving methodologies to address challenges.
  • Support quality assurance in analyzing returned products and customer complaints.
  • Make informed, data-driven decisions and maintain organized documentation to support these decisions.
Technical Skill Requirements
  • Strong understanding of product development methodologies and processes.
  • Proficient in quality management, Lean principles, and product development tools.
  • Experience with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with project management software.
Professional Experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in managing product development using structured processes.
  • Experience in the filtration industry is essential.
  • Proven track record of effective customer interaction and communication.
  • Experience in high-volume production and manufacturing environments.
  • Background in change management and document control.
  • Experience with competitive analysis and specification development.
  • Familiarity with NSF/ANSI regulatory standards is preferred.
Education Requirement
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical preferred).
