Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Clinical Research Finance Specialist to join our team at The MetroHealth System. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, overseeing the fiscal operations for assigned departments and ensuring compliance with federal research guidelines.

The MetroHealth System is a leading healthcare provider in Cuyahoga County, committed to improving community health and well-being. Our system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments, and over 20 health centers, providing comprehensive care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and monitor a large and complex research portfolio with multi-site components, providing administrative and financial support for grants, contracts, and clinical trials.
  • Develop grant budgets, monitor revenue and expenditures, and ensure overall budget performance.
  • Assist and advise faculty and staff on grant applications, ensuring completeness and accuracy prior to submission.
  • Oversee all fiscal operations for assigned departments, adhering to policies and procedures of The MetroHealth System.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in accounting and/or finance, preferably in a research, educational, or healthcare setting.
  • Progressive experience in grant administration and/or clinical trial management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7 years of grant management experience, with a focus on post-award management.
  • Certified Research Administrator certification.
  • Experience with developing budgets for industry clinical trials and Lawson/PeopleSoft software.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
