We are seeking a highly skilled Water Distribution System Manager to join our Utilities Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of our water distribution system, ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable water to our residents and businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise a team of water distribution operators to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the system.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve water quality and reduce leaks and breaks in the system.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by college level coursework in water science or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience working in water distribution, potable water production, water treatment, storage, transmission, or a related field.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License, to be maintained throughout employment.
  • Possession of a valid Grade D3 Water Distribution Operator Certificate.
  • Possession of, or successful acquisition within 12 months of appointment, a valid Grade D4 Water Distribution Operator Certificate, to be maintained throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SCADA systems and digital control equipment.
  • Knowledge of water treatment and distribution processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
