Job Title: Senior Production Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Production Engineer to join our Performance Products Division in Freeport, Texas. This role will report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for technical monitoring of units and products, ensuring they are operated and produced in accordance with established procedures and within acceptable limits.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide subject matter expertise for all processes and products in your assigned area of responsibility.
  2. Provide technical advice to operations, management, process improvement teams, and other plant groups as necessary.
  3. Monitor daily unit operations to ensure performance within acceptable boundaries, producing products that meet quality specifications at peak efficiency with minimal waste.
  4. Lead the team when troubleshooting quality, process upsets, or equipment failures.
  5. Conduct experiments to test new operational modes, support new product start-ups, and other improvement activities.
  6. Participate in Process Hazard Analysis studies and incident investigations for your area of responsibility or as assigned.
  7. Perform economic studies, mass and energy balances, environmental release quantities, and other process engineering calculations as needed to support the facility.
  8. Responsible for leading Root Cause Analysis and driving corrective actions to completion before they become overdue.
  9. Responsible for documenting process changes by using the Huntsman tools for Management of Change.
  10. Responsible for updating operating discipline and operating procedures to clarify or improve our documentation.
  11. Support the development of production plans to deliver business objectives, including assessing plant operating parameters and recommending operating targets.
  12. Create planning, inventory, and month-end reports as assigned.
  13. Participate in Month-End financial close activities.
  14. Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
  15. Assist other employees in the accomplishment of Huntsman company goals. Follow instructions and perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  16. Participate in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Process Safety Management initiatives as set forth by the company.
  17. Participate in and complete company-required training programs.
Requirements:
  1. Must possess a BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  2. 3-5+ years of previous production experience.
  3. Proven history of driving change in a manufacturing operations environment.
  4. Detailed knowledge of the Freeport Ethylene Amines Production Facility.
  5. Must pass either the Train 1 or Train 2 Qualification process.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Root Cause Analysis certification is desirable for the incumbent.
  2. 6-sigma certification.
