About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Advanced Engineering team at Medtronic. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing high-level leadership and direction to the team, ensuring the implementation of strategic and tactical activities supporting the CAS Operating Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, grow, and motivate a highly talented and diverse engineering team.
  • Direct, develop, and coach the engineering team through effective leadership.
  • Attract and retain talent in line with business needs.
  • Liaise closely with project leads and core teams to ensure alignment on project resourcing needs and align on AME deliverables.
  • Guide the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, processes, and equipment used in production.
  • Ensure the engineering team is motivated and engaged through regular coaching and performance acceleration.
  • Drive functional excellence through the innovation of new technologies and processes to support next-generation designs and novel applications in the coronary and renal denervation space.
  • Drive functional excellence in process development, including process characterization and transfer to commercial manufacturing.
  • Develop and promote Design, Reliability, and manufacturability (DRM) within the Engineering group and champion the deployment of these practices.
  • Manage engineers and possibly other supervisors involved in an array of product development and technology exploration projects.
  • Collaborate with core teams to establish objectives and evaluate progress of direct reports.
  • Generate novel and unique solutions to both engineering and organizational challenges.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field with 5+ years of work experience in Engineering or Advanced degree in Engineering or technical field with 3+ years of direct engineering experience within a medical device environment.
  • Experience of direct management of engineers is a distinct advantage.
  • Nice to Have: Experience in a Process & Technology Development role, experience with leading teams through process development, and excellent team building, communication, people management, and leadership skills.
