Senior R&D Engineer
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior R&D Engineer to join our Membrane R&D group within the Liquid Filtration Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and scaling up novel and advanced membranes for the control of micro-contamination in the semi-conductor industry.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and scale up novel membrane processes from R&D to manufacturing
- Support the membrane development efforts by working closely with senior membrane scientists to design, plan, and execute experiments, analyze data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations
- Support manufacturing by offering and executing solutions to potential issues related to yield, capacity, and capability
- Play a leadership role in all phases of membrane development with a focus on scale up of new membrane manufacturing processes
- Work with equipment vendors to scope, design, build, install, and commission new R&D and production scale equipment
- Drive readiness of a new membrane manufacturing line and work with Operations, Quality, and Development teams to ensure all requirements are met
- Develop new solutions to existing membrane manufacturing challenges such as improving yield, increasing capacity, and minimizing variation
- Establish relationships and work closely with membrane suppliers to develop new membranes to meet Entegris' specifications
- Design and execute experiments, analyze results, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for next steps
- Communicate with multicultural cross-functional teams and build consensus to drive projects to completion in a timely manner
- Support the release of new products or technology through a stage-gate release process
- Provide documentation support such as creating/maintaining drawings, SOPs, test procedures, and test data
- Ph.D. in Plastics Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline and 5 years of experience as a process engineer, materials engineer, or related engineering occupation within a manufacturing industry
- Or Master's in Plastics Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline and 8 years of experience as a process engineer, materials engineer, or related engineering occupation within a manufacturing industry
- Or Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline plus 10 years of experience as a process engineer, materials engineer, or related engineering occupation within a manufacturing industry
- Must possess 5 years' experience with polymer processing and extrusion processes and scale up, rheology of polymers, performing hand-on experiments in lab and production environments, and application of chemical engineering principles within a manufacturing environment
- Must possess 3 years' experience with polyolefins or fluoropolymers related to film and melt extrusion processes
