Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Business Development Lead to drive business development activities for a diverse set of customers focused on solutions for our Government and Commercial Space customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to identify, accelerate, and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute capture strategies, including opportunity qualification, capture team leadership, and proposal development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to drive business growth and revenue.
  • Conduct market analysis and competitive intelligence to inform business development decisions.
  • Develop and manage the company's pipeline of business opportunities, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, and managing the sales process from initial contact to contract award.
  • Collaborate with the SIO Director of Growth and Strategy to develop and execute the company's growth strategy, including identifying new business opportunities and developing plans to pursue them.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in business development, including strategic planning, competitive intelligence, and market analysis.
  • Responsible for pipeline development and support to on-contract growth efforts, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and managing the sales process from initial contact to contract award.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 15+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 12+ years of experience.
  • Proven track record of success in business development, including experience in the space market and a strong understanding of the Federal Government's procurement process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make informed business decisions.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and feedback, and to establish solid working relationships with technical staff, division managers, and peers across the corporation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience leading people, teams, and programs.
  • Master's degree.
  • 15+ years of experience with NASA/NOAA/DOE.
  • Prior business development experience in the space market.
