We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Highway Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the State of Colorado. As a key member of our maintenance operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our transportation infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks on highways, roads, and bridges, including plowing snow, operating heavy equipment, and repairing potholes.
- Inspect and maintain equipment, vehicles, and facilities to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as accidents or inclement weather, to ensure public safety.
- Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest maintenance techniques and technologies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- At least two years of experience in physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no restrictions on air brakes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
