The Urgent Care Technician operates as a Paramedic with a National Registry Certification, working under the Medical Direction of ConvenientMD. This role requires advanced patient assessment skills for managing a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries, as well as proficiency in airway management, intravenous therapy, and pharmacological interventions. The UCT will take the lead in clinical situations where a Registered Nurse is not present and will collaborate with the clinical team to fulfill all shared responsibilities and tasks within their professional scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient triage, including vital signs, medical history, and observational assessments.
- Assist in patient examinations, testing, and procedures as directed by the healthcare provider.
- Manage airways through nebulizer treatments, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration.
- Perform cardiac management tasks, including 12 Lead ECG application, CPR, and AED defibrillation.
- Administer medications and immunizations in accordance with the CMD Urgent Care Technician scope of practice.
- Support patient follow-ups, addressing inquiries, and communicating test results and treatment changes.
- Engage in training and mentoring of new team members.
Qualifications:
- Nationally Certified Paramedic (Required in NH & MA, ME preferred).
- Licensed Paramedic.
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification preferred; American Red Cross BLS Certification accepted.
- Availability to work 12-hour shifts and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods; some bending and stooping required.
- Manual dexterity necessary for clinical tasks.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
