Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Tech PRN to join our team at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles. As a Radiology Tech PRN, you will be responsible for taking x-rays of designated parts of the human body for diagnostic purposes and providing support for the imaging department.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Explaining Procedures to Patients

Our ideal candidate will explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provide appropriate educational material.

Preparing Patients for Radiology Exams

The successful candidate will prepare patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure and ensuring their safety.

Following Radiation Safety Procedures

Our Radiology Tech PRN will follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.

Administering Contrast Media and Medications

The candidate will prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.

Observing Patients During Procedures

Our Radiology Tech PRN will observe patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity to the appropriate personnel.

Ensuring High-Quality Images

The successful candidate will ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS.

Maintaining a Clean and Organized Department

Our Radiology Tech PRN will maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas in the department.

Education and Experience
  • Associate's Degree or Radiology Certification

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree or completion of a radiology certification program.

No Experience Required

We welcome candidates with no experience, as we provide comprehensive training and support.

Physical Requirements
  • Constant Standing and Walking

The successful candidate will be able to stand and walk constantly throughout their shift.

Frequent Use of Vision and Depth Perception

Our Radiology Tech PRN will use their vision and depth perception frequently to perform tasks.

Frequent Use of Hearing and Speech

The candidate will use their hearing and speech frequently to communicate with patients and colleagues.
