Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Tech PRN to join our team at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles. As a Radiology Tech PRN, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and provide educational materials as needed.
  • Transport patients to and from clinical areas, verifying patient identity according to policies and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines to prevent patient exposure to unnecessary radiation.
  • Administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor patient activity during procedures and report any abnormal activity.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
  • Perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is not on site.
Requirements
  • Completion of a radiology certification program.
  • No experience required.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • ARRT-R Radiography or ARRT-BD Bone Density certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
