SSM Health is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist PRN to join our team. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography (CT) scans for the diagnosis of disease and injury.
Responsibilities- Prepare and position patients for CT scans, ensuring accurate and safe procedures.
- Operate CT scanners to produce high-quality images, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Administer contrast media and medications as required, adhering to accepted scope of practice and applicable regulations.
- Monitor patient safety during procedures, reporting any abnormalities or concerns.
- Collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, contributing to the smooth operation of the radiology department.
- Completion of a radiology certification program or registration in radiology.
- No prior experience required, but a strong commitment to patient care and safety is essential.
- Constant standing and walking during procedures and patient care.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for accurate positioning and scanning.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech for clear communication with patients and colleagues.
- Frequent lifting and moving of patients during procedures.
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
- ARRT-R Radiography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- ARRT-CT Computed Tomography certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
