Position Overview:

We are in search of a skilled Legal Manager to enhance our Labor and Employment Law team. This role is pivotal in delivering comprehensive legal, administrative, and operational support while ensuring adherence to labor and employment regulations throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the execution of Yankee Candle's Labor and Employment Legal Strategy under the guidance of the Senior Counsel. Oversee the management of case files and documentation, including preparation for government inquiries or legal proceedings. Handle document production in response to legal requests, ensuring compliance with all lawful inquiries. Collaborate with legal counsel to stay informed on new laws and regulations affecting the company, and develop training materials to promote awareness. Create and maintain resources such as playbooks, FAQs, and guidelines to enhance the provision of legal advice to internal stakeholders. Serve as a key liaison with a network of global legal professionals, managing various legal matters across the organization. Analyze data and generate reports to recommend improvements, focusing on operational efficiency. Provide legal support related to labor and employment issues in corporate transactions and organizational changes. Work closely with the litigation team to prepare witnesses and support legal representation. Conduct and oversee sensitive internal investigations, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up mechanisms. Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure compliance with company standards. Offer substantive legal guidance to managers and HR partners on employee relations matters. Proven leadership skills, with a detail-oriented and organized approach. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Proactive, objective, and collaborative working style. Strong skills in data visualization and presentation. Effective project management capabilities. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to make swift decisions and recommendations. Demonstrated career progression and achievements. Capacity to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal oversight.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience. A Master's degree in law, Human Resources, or a related field, or a Juris Doctorate is advantageous. In-depth knowledge of labor and employment law, including Title VII, EEOC complaints, workplace investigations, and employee privacy regulations. A solid track record of progressive experience in the field.
