About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Shop Lead Diesel Technician to join our team at Republic Services. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading a group of technicians to ensure that all repairs and maintenance of equipment are performed in compliance with our safety standards and applicable federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain expert knowledge of and advanced working proficiency in vehicle components and systems, including chassis, refuse bodies, air and hydraulic braking systems, engine repair and maintenance, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
  • Provide direction to technicians assigned to your work group to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is performed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Inspect repairs done by third-party vendors to ensure all work has been properly completed in accordance with our safety procedures and federal and state regulations.
  • Perform repair diagnostics on more complex matters and identify the source of malfunctions using electronic tools.
  • Complete applicable company training programs and handle maintenance supervisor responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
  • Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some of the following heavy truck or automotive systems: suspensions, steering, general engine, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drive train, and diesel emissions.
  • ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) is a plus but not required.
  • Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
