Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at GPAC. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned transportation equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic diagnostics and both major and minor repairs.
  • Accomplish electrical system repairs.
  • Maintain condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
  • Deliver quality repairs in a timely fashion.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and personnel.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while executing work assignments.
  • Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
  • Account for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties.

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of Diesel Mechanic experience with brands such as: International, Volvo, Hino, Mack, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Cummins Engines, Detroit Diesel Motors.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical and electrical with the ability to learn multiple engines.
  • Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
  • Capable of operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift at least 100 lbs. repeatedly.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Basic Service Technician certification preferred.
  • Highly qualified candidates may possess additional skills including welding, fabrication, towing experience, CDL, forklift certification.
