Young Adult Support Specialist/Recovery Coach

Brockton Area Multi-Services, Inc. (BAMSI) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recovery Coach to join our Youth and Young Adult Services team. As a Recovery Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting young adults in their recovery journey, providing guidance, and connecting them with essential resources.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual coaching and support to young adults in their recovery journey, helping them navigate the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) system of care.
- Facilitate Substance Use Recovery groups and other workshops, promoting a safe and supportive environment for participants.
- Collaborate with young adults, family members, treatment providers, and other service providers to ensure continuity of care and support.
- Link young adults to SUD treatment services when appropriate, and provide information and linkage to substance use treatment, including ACRA.
- Collect and enter data into the Redcap system and other required documentation in a timely manner, adhering to the highest quality standards.
- Perform duties consistent with BSAS/DMH/BAMSI policies and procedures, and execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards.
- Recovery Support Specialists must have lived substance use challenges and have successfully completed Recovery Coaching Academy training within the first six months of hire.
- Must complete the Core Elements of Young Adult Peer Mentoring Training and Transition to Independence (TIP) Facilitation Training within the first year of hire.
- Experience providing individual coaching and facilitating group supports are desirable.
- Must demonstrate enhanced life skills by either currently using or having used SUD treatment services in the past, and have self-knowledge evidenced by managing their recovery with a well-established recovery process and a willingness to share their lived experience.
- A High School Diploma/GED, reliable transportation, and a valid driver's license are required.
- Ability to be strengths-based and accepts young adults unconditionally without judgment or blame for the challenges they face.
- Must be flexible and able to respond to young adults who may be under stress and, at times, in crisis.
- Experience with various state systems, including DMH, DCF, DDS, and DYS, is a plus.
- Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Administrative, organizational, computer, professional writing, and oral communication skills are a plus.
